Distant skies.
Roaming on the streets of bitter eyes,
I tightened my jacket in the cold night.
The hearts around me pumped 'stop that disguise',
While raging souls suffered social frostbite.
Bloodshot eyes gazed at my comfort,
'Why? why?', their emotions screamed.
Their expressions are baffled,
As they asked with tears brimmed:
"When would it be my time?"
With shame, I faced the floor.
Days aren't counted by dime,
But through that light of the open door.
Our mouths are kept so shut in might,
The darkness is taking its toll.
It's time to relight,
Or take the way to the hollow.
