The Exclusive Practice.
Had our very own team 3 band practice yesterday at Lisa's house, feels odd when team 2's not around. >_<
5pm.
Was at Bukit Batok bus interchange waiting for the peeps.
Andrew came shortly after, with his song sheets.
Only worship songs though. Cos no drums. Haha.
He forgot to bring the one-side skin covered tambourine! -_-" No choice, gotta use my legs as the drum set for the drumsticks. *oww*
Waited for Anathan. (I suppose he was snorting on the way *chuckles*)
And out of the blue, we saw Annabelle. She came back from school I think.
It was such a long time since we met each other.
As Dru said, she really changed.
It's real sad..from such a faithful christian to now a backslided person...
I will not go into detail on what had really happened.
By the way...
Her spec-less-squinting-rapid-blinking eyes give me goosebumps. -_-"
*Snort*
Oh! Anathan! (Nah, he didn't snort. I was just joking.)
Came here with his bass and amp.
Boarded 173. RO,RO,RO.
Arrived to Lisa's house.
Rain was already there. So fast.
Andy came later, soon after we arrived.
Liang Zhi will be late.
Went to Lisa's brothers' room to set up the systems.
Few minutes passed.
Everything was ready.
Practice started.
Used my legs as the drum pads.
*PAIN*.....
Oh well, no choice, got to endure.
Suddenly,
I found out that I've got a wallet in my pocket.
Thank God, the wallet can cushion the impact and make sounds.
The songs were flowing smoothly and gently.
After some time, we would assess ourselves on how we had done.
Cool. The band now is getting gelled together.
Can finally hear Ana's bass clearly. :)
More importantly, God's touch and healing upon this team.
Father, let this team become a fine and powerful pack of musicians ready to reach out to the world for You.
8pm.
Went down to have dinner.
Pizza, dunno-wat and onion rings.
Thank you Lisa and family for the hospitality. :)
8:40pm.
Went back up to practice some more.
And yes!
Thank God that Lisa was able to split the keyboard into 2 parts, one with drums and one with piano. (Well..not physically splitting. -_-" There's a function on it.)
No more painful legs. :D
I wasn't effective on it though. Haha.
No toms, no hi-hat, no cymbals, no crashes.
Just bass and snare. Hahaha.
9:50pm.
We packed up everything and left.
Lisa's father was extremely kind to give us a lift on his family car. :)
One by one they went their own way...
Now left me, Liang Zhi and Ana.
Suddenly..
Ana: "Noooooooooooooooooo..."
Shoves up his slipper. The strap is broken. LOL.
Me and Liang Zhi laughed like mad.
The car had to go to his block.
Special treatment. :D
And so poor Ana went off wearing only one slipper.
Finally, the car reached near my house.
Bid goodbye to them and had the 'priveledge' to throw away Ana's slipper. -_-"
My overall feeling was:
Awesome. It's the first time I had a private time with my band alone.
I felt closer to them too. Our hearts are together as one.
Rain had a beautiful voice.
Anathan's bass was wonderfully deep and impacting.
Liang Zhi's e-guit rocked.
Andy's acoustic guitar was groovy and rhythmic.
Dru's vocals was superb and audible.
Lisa's keyboard was peaceful and flowing like a gentle stream.
My 'drum', erm, not applicable. >_<
Next week, at church! :)
There comes the real drums.

2 Comments:
cool.
Always when Corban goes to Lisa's we get good food. Which is really one of the most important parts of a visit methinks. =D
Haha. Yeah. It's like a mini-restaurant. Really thank God for their hospitality.
