Cries of the lonely

I stand in front of a stagnant lake,
The freezing wind blowing at me.
Shivering and lonely,
I patted on myself,
Hoping for a warm day,
But it never came.
The world seems deaf to my pleas,
As though it was just an empty space.
The trees around are frightening,
With their jagged edges,
As though wanting to pierce me.
I want help, I need help, I'm desperate for help,
But nothing cares...

I do not know how long I will last,
But as long as I have breath,

I am waiting.
